Style in the City is an über-chic new fashion and beauty event taking place in Birmingham from 3rd to 6th April. Combining glamour, treats, entertainment and retail indulgence, it involves some of the hottest names in the fashion world.


Adore Moi have announced celebrity model and mum, Nell McAndrew, as the new Face and Body of Adore Moi. Nell replaces former Adore Moi model Kimberly Stewart. Debenhams were delighted to be awarded the coveted title of ‘Best One Stop Shop’ Cosmopolitan’s inaugural Online Fashion Awards took place on 6th March 2008 at The Roof Gardens in Kensington.


H&M has signed an agreement to acquire the privately owned Swedish fashion company Fabric Scandinavien AB that is running the store chains Weekday and Monki. The Group also designs and sells fashion through a number of own brands, such as Cheap Monday.


Vivienne Westwood returns to London after an absence of almost a decade to show her A/W 2008 Red Label collection thanks to the invitation and support of the British Fashion Council. Carlo D'Amario, Managing Director of Vivienne Westwood explains: “I think there has recently been a definite shift in focus towards Europe with regards to the global business of prêt-a-porter distribution lines targeted at the younger market. We decided to show the Red Label in London as it perfectly represents the dynamic spirit of the city.”

O2 today announced the launch of the first ever fashion industry pilot of NFC (Near Field Communications) technology on mobile phones at this year’s London Fashion Week. The first designer and fashion buyer to work with O2 to bring NFC technology to the fashion industry will be up-and-coming designer Emilio de la Morena, and fashion buyer, Two See, the stylish Covent Garden boutique.


Fashion addicts not lucky enough to get seats at the shows this London Fashion Week need not despair. Between 11 and 16 February, Harvey Nichols and Vogue.com will be bringing the highlights of all the best Autumn/Winter 2008 catwalk shows, just hours after they happen, to the comfort of your restaurant table.
