The new Alfa Spider, the latest open-topped Alfa Romeo in the company’s outstanding legacy of iconic convertibles, has just gone on sale in the UK.

A small number of desirable Alfa 147 Collezione models have just become available in the UK, with an attractive price that includes metallic paint, leather interior and unique 17 inch spoked alloy wheels.

Fresh from its UK public debut at last weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the all-new Alfa Spider will take pride of place on the Alfa Romeo stand at the 2006 British International Motor Show in London’s Docklands (ExCeL) next week. The all-new Alfa Spider, which recalls memories of the 1960s Spider Duetto, made its international public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, where it was named Cabrio of the Year 2006 by a panel of international motoring writers.

Italian sporting car manufacturer, Alfa Romeo, will be displaying and running an impressive array of Alfa Romeo cars from its world renowned museum collection at Arese, Milan, during this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in Sussex (7-9 July).

The new Alfa 159 Sportwagon, a sporting estate in the best Alfa Romeo tradition, has just gone on sale in the UK, along with 260 bhp V6 Q4 versions of the Alfa Brera, Alfa 159 and 159 Sportwagon.

The new Alfa 159 has won the Design Award in the 2006 Fleet World Honours. The trophy was presented at a special ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, on Thursday 18 May.

Alfa Romeo UK has just announced a series of new appointments intended to take the brand forward as it revitalises its entire model range in the coming months.

The forthcoming Geneva Motor Show in March will be the setting for the international public debuts of the Alfa 159 Sportwagon and Alfa Spider, thus completing the range to take Alfa Romeo into the future.

The all-new Alfa 159, which goes on sale in the UK on Saturday 18 February, has been awarded the prestigious five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which puts it ahead of the field for its segment with regard to crash safety performance.
