Oliver Jarvis and Katherine Legge head for the second round of the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) at Oschersleben next weekend (20 Apr) looking to build upon their first foray into the world’s most popular international touring car series.
AUDI AG celebrates two anniversaries during the weekend of the "Grand Prix of Long Beach" on 19 / 20 April: Almost 20 years ago to the day, Audi’s unique winning streak on closed circuits started around the famous street circuit near Los Angeles, California.
On 13 April, exactly 182 days after Audi driver Mattias Ekström won the prestigious 2007 DTM title at Hockenheim, the new DTM season, and thus Audi’s "title defence", begins at the same venue. Just one week later, at Oschersleben, the second race is on the agenda.
Less than 24 hours after its victory in St Petersburg Audi clinched another podium result with its R10 TDI sportscar: the two Audi youngsters Alexandre Prémat (26) and Mike Rockenfeller (24) finished the 1000-kilometre race at Barcelona (Spain), which marked the début of Audi Sport Team Joest in the European Le Mans Series, in second place overall following a flawless drive.
Audi scored the first victory of the Audi R10 TDI in the 2008 American Le Mans Series in a thrilling battle in the second round at St Petersburg (US state of Florida).
Even in its third year of racing the Audi R10 TDI still experiences some débuts: on the first weekend in April, the diesel-powered sportscar will compete simultaneously for the first time in two races, in America and in Europe.

Audi made it a big double when the R8 was declared the 2008 World Car Design of the YearCars eligible for the 2008 World Car Design of the Year award are taken from the list of thirty-nine (39) World Car candidates nominated by forty-seven (47) World Car jurors from twenty-four (24) countries throughout the world.
The 2008 World Performance Car award has gone to the Audi R8 as announced today during the awards press conference the New York International Auto Show.
