Mitsubishi has announced the names of two new models. The U.S.-market Lancer will be renamed “GALANT FORTIS” for the Japan domestic market. Also, Mitsubishi’s rally-inspired, high-performance 4WD sedan will carry the name “LANCER EVOLUTION X”.
Mitsubishi have announced global production, as well as domestic sales and export results, both for March 2007 and fiscal year 2006.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced that it is to bring forward the introduction of a next-generation 2.0-liter class diesel engine to the European market where demand for such engines is growing.

Well-known Scottish car retailer and Mitsubishi dealer Phoenix has romped home with an impressive hat trick of awards from the trade publication AM Magazine. The prestigious awards were presented during a ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC last week in front of a 1,200-strong motor trade audience.

Mitsubishi Motors UK has confirmed that the multi-award winning Mitsubishi “i” minicar will go on sale in the UK on 1st July 2007, with one highly-specified model to be launched priced at £8,999. The rear-mid-engined, four-seater “i” has already achieved cult status in Japan where it has proved both a critical and commercial success due to its futuristic styling, agile handling, clever use of interior space and comfortable ride.

A few weeks after the successful world premiere of the Lancer sports sedan at the Detroit Motor Show, the 2007 Geneva will be another occasion for celebration at Mitsubishi Motors.

Mitsubishi’s all-new Lancer saloon made its world debut at the show, along with an almost-finished concept for the forthcoming Lancer Evo X.

Mitsubishi has unveiled the final edition of the current generation Lancer Evolution supercar. Just one version of the new Evolution IX MR (‘Mitsubishi Racing’) will be available, powered by a 366bhp version of Mitsubishi’s 2.0-litre turbo engine. 200 units of the Evolution IX MR FQ-360 are now available from Mitsubishi Ralliart dealers, priced from £34,539.
Meeting European customers’ demand, the Lancer sports sedan will be offered from launch in Europe (fourth quarter of 2007) with the well known VAG-supplied 140 ps – 2.0 l Pump Jet Diesel already fitted to Grandis Di-D and Outlander Di-D.
In Detroit, Mitsubishi Motors hints at the next generation of its iconic supercar, the much anticipated and all-new Lancer Evolution. Consistent with MMC’s impeccable sporting credentials, its high performance engine, outstanding dynamics and sharp design will appeal to enthusiasts worldwide. As such, Prototype X also demonstrates the depth and breadth of the new Lancer sports sedan family, ranging from entry model (1.5 l in Europe) right up to the all-new Lancer Evolution, the “range topping” supercar.
