Renault’s burgeoning international operations have taken two major steps forward recently with the creation of two new organisations: Renault Technologies Romania (RTR) and Renault Nordic, with a combined investment of €110m and the creation of up to 1,600 new jobs.

Renault’s cheeky, practical and stylish supermini-MPV, Modus, has won over plenty of customers and industry experts alike since its launch, and has now added arguably the ultimate independent endorsement from consumer champions, Which? magazine, in the Best Buys section of this month’s issue.

Formula One has always been an arena for innovation and 30 years ago, Renault’s foresight heralded a new dawn in engine technology. At the 1977 British Grand Prix, held on Sunday, 14th July, Jean-Pierre Jabouille raced RS01, the first car to feature a turbocharged engine, a 1.5-litre V6 that broke new ground.

Stefan Hodgett’s unrelenting assault on the Renaultsport Elf Clio Cup continued on Sunday at Oulton Park, as yet again he blitzed to pole position, fastest lap and race victory in his MOMO Team Clio.

More than 160,000 tickets have already been requested for the World Series by Renault meeting at Donington Park on 8th and 9th September. Free tickets for the UK leg of the seven-event series became available online on Monday 21st May, with fans flocking to the official website to place their order.

UK drivers will be able to get behind the wheel of New Twingo in right-hand-drive for the first time when it goes on sale on 7th September. And it is certainly worth the wait.

Canadian Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton’s first races in a single-seater car in the Formula Renault UK with Michelin Championship saw the karting star make a seamless transition to car racing. It took the Tewin-based sensation just nine races to record his first win as he finished a close third overall in competition with some of Britain’s best drivers.

Free tickets for the UK leg of the World Series by Renault will be available from the series’ official website on Monday 21 st May. Fans will be able to order up to four tickets per household for the race weekend, which takes place on 8 th/9 th September at Donington Park . Last year, a crowd of more than 90,000 enjoyed a feast of motorsport action with many spectators attending a motor racing event for the first time.

Launched at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show to considerable interest, Renault has now confirmed pricing and specification for the first two models in the new Scénic Conquest range, priced £17,945 for the 2.0 VVT 136 and £19,135 for the 1.9 dCi 130. A further two engines will be added in September.
