His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has given Saab BioPower the green light, getting behind the wheel of the UK’s first eco-friendly convertible. Well known for his interest in the environment, Prince Charles had a number of questions for Jonathan Nash, the Managing Director of Saab Great Britain, at a meeting which preceded the London to Brighton eco-car rally which will take place tomorrow, on World Environment Day.


Saab’s strong environmental credentials have yet again been recognised and rewarded, this time in the 2007 Fleet World Honours. The trophy was presented at a special ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall on Thursday 17th May.


Secretary of State for the Environment, David Miliband, paid a visit to Teeside on Friday as work began on a new £250 million bioethanol production plant.


Speaking exclusively to saabbiopower.co.uk, Sir Richard Branson has revealed why he is such a staunch supporter of new environmentally-friendly fuels such as bioethanol and biodiesel. He also talks candidly to Saab about the steps he is personally taking to reduce his carbon footprint, and his vision of creating the first carbon-neutral resort in the Caribbean, on his home of Necker Island.

Managing Director of Saab Great Britain Limited, Jonathan Nash, has responded to the Budget announcement by again urging the government to do more to encourage the development of the UK biofuels industry through customer incentives.


Saab Great Britain has today (Monday 19th March 2007) unveiled a BioPower Budget detailing the measures it would like to see the UK Government take in the Budget on Wednesday to boost the use of bioethanol E85 and reduce Britain’s CO2 output from road transport.


Owners of older Saab models no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty can take advantage of a comprehensive safety check on all mechanical and electrical functions at Saab dealers throughout the country.
