Following two test events in Corsica and Great Britain last year, the Suzuki World Rally Team now embarks on its first full season of world rallying with two new drivers: Toni Gardemeister from Finland and Per-Gunnar Andersson from Sweden, the reigning Junior Rally Champion with Suzuki.

Toni Gardemeister and Per-Gunnar Andersson will be driving the all-new Suzuki SX4 WRC in 2008. By nominating the Scandinavians, Suzuki brings a famous face back to the WRC tracks and enables one of its juniors to enter the world’s most demanding motor sport competition, thus following the corporation’s international motor sport strategy.

Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) is pursuing a world strategy designed for long-term growth. Following the launch of its acclaimed fourth world strategic model, the Splash, at the 2007 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, the company is developing the fifth exciting model in its strategy.

Suzuki’s SX4 sport crossover range, which blends the character of a sporty compact with that of a lightweight SUV, is now being offered with a second diesel option.

Offering the true SUV credentials for which Suzuki has become renowned but with an even more luxurious specification, the Grand Vitara X-EC 5-door is a new special edition of the company’s compact SUV with either 2.0-litre petrol or 1.9-litre diesel power.

The 2008 season will see a revitalised line-up for Team Suzuki Swift as they announce the signing of headline acts - Pascal Leuret, Brad Anderson and up-and-coming young-gun Jake Nicholls.
Suzuki is a main sponsor of the Burton European Open 2008 (January 11-18, 2008), Europe’s biggest snowboard competition with up to 500 riders competing in Slopestyle and Halfpipe.

Dealer Team Suzuki’s James Wozencroft and Lorna Smith finished 2nd and 4th in Class R2 at the Yorkshire International Rally, the penultimate round of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship held in the forests around Pickering on Saturday 6th October.

Dealer Team Suzuki’s Lorna Smith and co-driver Joanne Oakey were crowned British Ladies Rally Champions 2007 on Saturday 6th October after finishing 4th in class at the Yorkshire International Rally.
