The development of the SX4 WRC is well under way. During the last few months the team conducted extensive tests on both tarmac and gravel. Now it is ready for its official debut at Rallye de France in Corsica on 12 October, where it will complete its first run under real contest conditions.

Suzuki held tarmac tests for the SX4 WRC in June in southern Europe. The European tests started in April, but these were the first fully fledged tarmac tests. The SX4 WRC brought in for testing was evolved further from the earlier prototype design; in fact, its specifications are already close to what is planned to be fielded in this season’s WRC test entries.


Dealer Team Suzuki’s Lorna Smith and co driver Joanne Oakey drove an almost faultless rally to bring their Swift Sport home on the Isle of Man International Rally, the 3rd round of the British Rally Championship and also a round in the Irish Tarmac Championship.


Nobuhiro Tajima, President of Suzuki Sport, has won the 85th anniversary run of the world classic Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 10 minutes and one second, breaking the record previously held by New Zealander Rod Millen driving a Toyota 13 years ago.
