Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion Volkswagen will be firing off the next salvo of its BlueMotion offensive at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt.


The participants for the Urban Challenge have been named. All participating vehicles were tested by the DARPA in the so-called "Site Visit" on 14 June 2007. "Junior", a Passat Estate made by Volkswagen, has now been officially nominated for the next stage.


It is high summer and so it is high season for convertibles. According to a recent study by the German Federal Vehicle Registration Authority, most of them are being driven around the Starnberger See and in the Hochtaunus region.

The Polo BlueMotion is now available for ordering ahead of its arrival in the UK in October. Promising outstanding fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions of just 99 g/km, the new model will be priced from £11,995 for the BlueMotion 1 while the BlueMotion 2 with higher levels of equipment starts at £12,845.
