Volvo Car UK has announced that it is an Official Partner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which takes place from 4-7 October 2007. The partnership extends Volvo’s association with the European Tour that stretches back to 1970 and continues Volvo’s long term involvement with the golfing community.

Studies show that up to 90 per cent of all traffic accidents are caused by driver distraction and, based on these high statistics, Volvo is focusing on developing efficient technology to help a driver avoid or reduce the severity of accidents caused by distraction or driver fatigue.

The all-new Volvo V70, the next generation of one of the police force’s most popular vehicles, makes its UK debut in full police specification and livery at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) conference and exhibition at Wroughton on 14 and 15 August.

Eighty years ago the first Volvo car, the ÖV4 ‘Jakob’, left the factory in Gothenburg, Sweden and to mark this occasion, Volvo Car UK is hosting a Volvo Marque Day celebration on Sunday 2 September.
