For the second year running Leyland Trucks has scored a double win in the annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards (MX Awards).


Investment of over half a million pounds in the training of engineers is being seen by Leyland Trucks as a mark of confidence in the long-term future of the Lancashire truck builder.


Lancashire company Leyland Trucks has won a top UK award for its health and safety performance from the UK’s foremost safety organisation RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents).


Production levels will be increased in March at Leyland Trucks’ Lancashire assembly plant. The increased level of production is expected to create up to 80 new jobs. It will raise the current annual output of the plant to 25,000 trucks a year.

Achievement by Leyland Trucks of one of the top quality standards in the global automotive industry has further consolidated its position as a world-class truck manufacturer.


Four apprentices from Leyland Trucks were amongst the winners at the annual Training 2000 Apprentice Awards held at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Accrington on Friday, 9 November.


Leyland Trucks – the UK’s only volume truck producer – has today announced a substantial increase in production at its Lancashire assembly plant.
