A South Korean Court in Seoul has approved SsangYong Motor Co.’s revival plans, clearing the way for the implementation of a three year programme designed to increase competitiveness, return to profitability and triple revenues over this year.
For the seventh month in succession, SsangYong increased sales in October over the same month last year. According to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, 60 SsangYongs were registered last month – a 46.34 per cent improvement over October 2008.
For the fifth month in succession, SsangYong has outperformed the UK car market in August with a sales increase over the same month last year of 160 per cent.

For the third month in succession, SsangYong bucked the downturn in the UK car market in June with a sales increase over the same month last year of 136.17 per cent.
SsangYong Motor has cleared a significant hurdle in its restructuring plans when a South Korean court gave its approval to put the plans into action.
Any new vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of over 3.5 tonnes used for hire or reward, must be fitted with an approved and calibrated digital tachograph.
