Climate in the region is both moderate and continental, with typical for the mountain areas climatic conditions. The fresh air is conducive to treatment of asthma and pulmonary deseases, due to the coniferous plantations and the broad-leaved thick forests, which cover a significant part of the kettle. Species like chub and barbel inhabit the rivers. Balkan and arched trouts live in the Balkan streams. The river trout is bred artificially. Perchpike, carp, sheat-fish, and many other species are bred in the artificial lake “Jovkovci”, which lies near the village. There is a great diversity of game. Red deers and roes are agents of the big game, and rabbits, quails and partridges pertain to the small game. Hawks, falcons and many small birds can be seen in the high mounatin areas. There are a lot of sports and tourist facilities in Elena province. A ski-path and tow are situated near the rest-house “Chumerna”. Many more small ski-paths are made near the rest-house “Bukovetz”and in the vicinity of the mountain part of the Elena district. A grocery shop, café, restaurant, post station, community reading-room and church are situated only 1 km away from the village. Interurban bus transport is available in Hanevtzi village.
