YBS launches 2 year fixed rate mortgage at 5.29%
5 September 2008

Yorkshire Building Society has launched a new 2 year fixed rate mortgage at 5.29%, together with three and five year deals at 5.49%. This latest drop in rates from the Yorkshire means that its 2 year fixed rate has come down by 90bp from 6.19% on the 24th July.

Tom Girling, Mortgage Product Manager at the Yorkshire Building Society said: "Money market rates are continuing to ease so we are keen to pass on the benefit to home buyers and those looking for a new mortgage deal. The combination of falling rates together with the Stamp Duty holiday announced on Tuesday may encourage those buyers committed to buying a home to take that first step. Elsewhere we offer great deals for remortgage customers with incentives that include free valuation and legal fees, and £500 cashback on completion."
