Rhyd-y-Bont cottage nestles in a sheltered hollow amongst an area of tiny fields. It is 100m from the estuary from Cymyran straits to Four Mile Bridge , the sea between Holyhead Island and Anglesey. The surrounding fields offer shores to explore that vary from rocky cliffs to sandy banks and muddy areas with crops of samphire. In the fields you will find great banks of gorse, foxgloves raged robin and orchids. The marsh area nearby is popular with curlews,lapwings and oyster catchers. A 3km drive down the road to Rhoscolyn gives you access to Silver Bay. This is one of the most delightful beaches of Anglesey, it has no public access by road, a clean beach award, and you can launch a boat into the open sea. On the mainland of Anglesey on the coast North of Rhosneigr is the military training airport and Air sea rescue base of Valley. most of the aircraft using the base are Hawk trainers, so the noise disturbance is limited.
