Job Description
A leading North American software company recently established in Malaga are looking for the following:
The Quality Assurance will be responsible for ensuring best practices methodologies and ensuring high quality work among the QA team in a given office. This position is 50% project chargeable and 50% management centric.
The success of this role is measured by the effective implementation of company programs and practices, increasing quality amongst the team, retention rates within the team and ensuring that the QA Team meets its project goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring projects are up to Quality Standards by reviewing projects, maintaining QA documentation, and ensuring process consistency.
Hands on ability and lead by example- contributions towards manual and automated testing and ability to provide technical direction
Handle escalated issues related to the QA component of projects and coach employees in this group on how to effectively handle situations that arise.
Co-develop best practices methodologies relevant to the QA group and implement and manage practices and processes that are consistent with other production offices and the overall strategic goals of the company.
Develop and maintain quality metrics and processes for improving QA effectiveness
Act as a communication link between the QA team and the company implement and manage office-wide programs such as timesheets and communicate company messages to the team.
Make recommendations to the Director of QA regarding relevant practices, training and rewards and recognition for the QA team
Manage the QA team including performance reviews, career planning, orientations and salary reviews.
Actively recruit QA employees, participate in hiring decisions and in meeting company growth plans.
Other special projects as required such as developing testing strategies and detailed test plans
Skills and Experience
4 years QA Lead experience working on large scale web and/or software projects
2 years QA Manager experience managing a team of QA leads on multiple projects
A relevant undergraduate degree and /or equivalent experience
Strong communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment required.
ISEB, ISTQB, ASTQB certifications would be ideal
Extensive knowledge in Bug Tracking, Automation, and Browser/ OS configurations.
