Job Description
This company are an industry leader in the fields of marketing, advertising and software development. As the exclusive agency for their billion-dollar digital entertainment client, our client is responsible for producing everything from music to online software applications and they are on the hunt to discover top talent to staff their new office opening in Malaga, Spain. They are looking for people who can not only solve problems, but design, develop and integrate them as part of an interactive team. They want ambition and determination but most of all they want passion and talent.

The company are not limited by bureaucracy and top-down management, in fact, their commitment is to creative flexibility. While they do use classic “waterfall” development styles, their preference is agile – an experimental style that involves the user directly in the creative process.

What You’ll Be Doing…
• Gathering requirements with end users and other internal stakeholders.
• Designing, developing and testing existing/new features.
• Involved in each stage of the development life cycle.
• Working hard and having fun with team/technical leads and other fellow Java guru’s developing the coolest, most complex, scalable solutions for their poker applications.
The Ideal Candidate…
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent desired
• 5+ years of server-side Java/J2EE development experience, multi-threaded server development and NIO experience
• Strong Java skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns, JSP and servlets
• Experience in database design and SQL; DB2
• Significant development experience in a Unix/Linux environment
• Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
• Sense of humor (YES that’s a requirement)
• Demonstrated knowledge of version control tools (eg. CVS, SVN)
• Ability to work both collaboratively and with limited supervision
• Ability to cope with fast-paced and constantly changing environments
