Bank of Scotland: Temp employment increases in Scotland
21 May 2007
April’s Bank of Scotland Labour Market Report highlighted a strengthening Scottish labour market, led by acceleration in employee appointments.
Permanent staff placements increased at the fastest rate for twelve months, while temporary/contract staff billings rose at the strongest pace in more than four years.
The report's labour market barometer rose to a four-month high of 61.3 in April, a level indicative of a strong rate in improvement in job market conditions in Scotland. The index was above the equivalent barometer for the wider UK economy.
Demand was strongest for permanent healthcare staff and temporary Engineering & Construction workers.
