Financial Services: Match jobs with relevant qualifications

The Securities & Investment Institute (SII) has devised an exciting new online tool to enable industry entrants, or those seeking career progression in the financial services industry – as well as HR and training professionals – to match jobs with relevant qualifications.

The new SII Interactive Qualifications Navigator, available on the Careers section of the SII’s website sii.org.uk/web5/infopool.nsf/HTML/CCareersguid?OpenDocument allows individuals to select an area of work within the securities and investment industry from a list of 32 options and identify which qualification(s) best relate to that role. Areas listed include compliance, fund management, investment banking and operations.

The Navigator displays a short explanation of what the job involves. It also details a) the correct Benchmark SII qualification required for the area of work, b) the SII Membership Type category available on successful completion, and c) the qualification required for further career progression in the area of work chosen.

The SII Interactive Qualifications Navigator also offers a list of benchmark qualifications required for non-UK practitioners which means that overseas individuals and their firms can utilise the facility to search for internationally portable examinations. These include:

International Investment Administration Qualification
International Introduction to Investment
International Certificate in Financial Advice (available in English, Spanish and Chinese)
IT in Investment Operations Qualification
Islamic Finance Qualification
