BBC Radio 2 presents R.E.M live at the Royal Albert Hall

BBC Radio 2 will be broadcasting live REM’s first ever show at London’s Royal Albert Hall this Easter Monday, 24 March. The concert, which celebrates 60 years of The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), comes on the eve of the release of their eagerly anticipated new studio album, Accelerate. Their first since 2004’s Around The Sun.

The concert will be broadcast live in the Radcliffe and Maconie show which will transmit from 8.30pm to 10.30pm on Radio 2. The two hour show will not only feature the live performance but will include exclusive backstage interviews with the band.

Radio 2’s Head of Music Jeff Smith said “The concert is going to be a highlight in Radio 2's Easter schedule - we are thrilled to have the opportunity to broadcast it”.
