Gaucho launches summer menu
10 April 2008

Gaucho Restaurants are launching their new Summer Menus on April the 14th, which will include a mouth-watering range of seasonal Argentine food specialities rarely seen in the UK. Famed for their Argentine gastronomy and for the UK’s largest collection of Argentine wine, the Gaucho Restaurants’ summer menu will focus on Argentina’s indigenous foods, with a special emphasis on Patagonia in the south.

Patagonian seafood is celebrated for its exquisite flavour, and Gaucho will be offering Patagonian toothfish, soft shell crab and lobster as well as a special seafood platter. Gaucho’s current ceviches (fish and shellfish marinated in citrus juices and herbs) are becoming legendary; two are staying and will be joined by four more, with the new ceviches featuring Argentine saltwater trout, tuna, swordfish and scallops.

Grilled Patagonian Lamb is also new to the menu, served with smoked garlic and Malbec sauce and including the ribs, chops and neck. But for the more carnivorous guest, the Gaucho Gran Parrillada should hit the spot, with a mixed grill of Patagonian lamb, cuadril, chorizo pinchos, morcilla and sweetbreads, and with chicken dressed with chimichurri sauce.

But no Gaucho menu would be complete without a healthy offering of their delicious pampas-reared Beef. Containing all four cuts, the beef sampler platter has grown to 1.2kilo, perfect to share.

Gaucho’s CEO, Zeev Godik, Comments:

“Argentina has a fantastic variety of foods and we are really excited to be able to introduce them to the UK. Great quality food can only be made with the freshest ingredients to produce such depth of flavour.”
