DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1, Cluj Napoca-Turda- Medias- Turda
Welcome to Transylvania! Our English speaking guides collects you from Cluj Napoca Airport. A city with outstanding medieval atmosphere, Cluj will surely impress you with its beautiful old buildings, Saint Michael’s Cathedral is a must see. From Cluj drive to Turda, a small town with an intimate atmosphere founded by the Romans under the name Potaissa. Late in the afternoon you’ll reach the town of Medias with its beautiful medieval centre where you’ll make the acquaintance of a unique artist, the only one in the world who uses spider web for his paintings. As you probably know, spiders are creatures happily tolerated by the count, so you’ll have further proof of how they are not merely reminiscent of delights' past. A UNESCO World Heritage site is next on your schedule. The village of Biertan, set high on a hill has the best known of all the Saxon fortified churches, the impressive fortified church of Biertan. In the evening return to Turda for a delicious Transylvanian dinner. You’ll relax in a 4* hotel often referred to as a medieval fantasy with beds.

DAY 2, Turda- Sighisoara- Turda
In the morning you’ll descend into the heart of one of the biggest salt mines in the country – Turda Salt Mines. Next stop is the medieval Saxon Citadel of Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll around the streets of the old citadel just like Vlad Dracul did once, hundreds of years ago.
Delight yourself with a vampire menu for dinner, to see why it’s worth killing for a meal! You’ll attend the Ritual of Killing of the Living Dead. This live re enactment is housed in the cellar of the hotel, designed in a genuine rustic Transylvanian style. Performed according to the old rituals of burying in Transylvania, the event is intended to reveal the fact that Transylvania, and in fact entire Romanian had no knowledge of vampires until Bram Stocker created his famous novel Dracula. Masquerade party to celebrate the victory (or recover from defeat)!

DAY 3, Turda – Cluj Napoca
With a lot of memories and surely some regret say good bye to Transylvania.
Transfer to Cluj Napoca airport for the flight back home.
