Vodafone ‘at home’ in the broadband arena
13 November 2006
Vodafone lays down the gauntlet to mobile competitors with launch of ‘At Home’ broadband service.
Steve Weller, Head of Communications Services, at leading independent comparison and switching service uSwitch.com, comments as Vodafone enters the broadband arena:
“As the second mobile operator to enter the fiercely competitive broadband arena, Vodafone has given a clear signal that it does not intend to follow in the footsteps of the ‘free’ broadband providers who have used price as a differentiator to acquire as many customers as possible in a very short time frame. While the pricing of the new ‘At Home’ package should be acceptable to Vodafone’s 16 million customers, the real value for money will be provided by the strong service features contained in the package, such as free technical support 24 hours a day and a ‘try before you buy’ 30 day guarantee.
The launch of ‘At Home’ will leave the ever-patient customers of o2, T-Mobile and three eagerly awaiting details of their network operator’s plans to join this battleground.”
