Hyundai posts all time record September sales
6 October 2006

In a declining UK car market, Hyundai, the world’s sixth largest manufacturer, has recorded its highest ever September sales with 7,263 units sold on the new ’56 plate.

This market-beating performance – ahead of Seat, Skoda, Volvo and Saab - saw Hyundai’s sales increase by 5.47 per cent for the month compared to September 2005. The Amica city car, Getz supermini and award-winning Santa Fe SUV led Hyundai’s charge.

So far this year, Hyundai has sold 30,611 units, a 1.9 per cent increase over the same period last year. This growth in sales contrasts with a weakening market that has fallen 3.5 per cent over the same period.

Hyundai’s UK Managing Director, Tony Whitehorn, said: “This continued growth reflects car buyers’ growing acceptance of Hyundai as a quality manufacturer, in an increasingly competitive market place.”
