31 October 2006

From October 26th to November 9th, the Jolly Hotel St Ermin’s is delighted to be hosting the gastronomic and cultural event.

Sicily: The Flavours of the Sun

The charismatic appeal of Sicily, a land of cultural diversity, linguistic individuality and proud and passionate people. Seasoning and delicious ingredients are always centre stage in a culinary performance characterised by piquant flavours.

With their usual expertise, the hotel’s team of chefs will prepare a collection of Sicilian specialities, to be served alongside a careful selection of the island’s wines.

The Sicilian theme will continue with a display of photographs on canvas by Maestro Paolo Barone and an exhibition of ceramics from the Sicilian School.

Among the delicacies to be served are unforgettable names, redolent of Sicily, such as Sardi a Beccaficu, Caciu a’Argintera, Maccarruna a’ Norma, Pasta cu Maccu, ‘Nvoltini di Pisci Spata and Farsumagru da Nonna. And to top off the meal there will be typically Sicilian desserts, including specialities like the fabulous Cassata and Cannoli with creamed ricotta.

Casesa, a group of musicians from Agrigento, will be there to enliven most of these gastronomic evenings with the best of Sicily’s folk music.

Lovers of good food and typically Italian folklore are advised not to miss this outstanding opportunity to experience the taste and style of this fascinating and unforgettable island.
