San Joaquin is a very pleasant small suburban/rural town. It is centrally located less than 15 minutes from the airport, Heredia, Alajuela, shopping malls and only 20 minutes from San José.

The lot is completely walled. The front and back gardens have easily maintained landscaping. The rear garden has fruit trees, a shaded ranchito and a small bodega for the laundry and workshop.

The area of the house is approx. 148 sm (1590 sf) measured the Costa Rican way; by Canadian standards the area is approx. 98 sm (1055 sf). The difference is because in Costa Rica the areas of the porch/veranda and garage seem to be included in the house area.
