A cable car lift has been constructed (ready for the 2003/2004 season) connecting the town to the slopes, and six new slopes has been developed. A second cable car lift will be ready for the 2007 winter season. Now there is a total of 65 km of ski and snowboard runs, 30 km of which are equipped with facilities for artificial snow produced by 44 TechnoAlpin cannons. The capacity of all the equipment in the ski zone above Bansko allows 6,000 skiers to ski simultaneously.
