Outside The house was constructed on the site of a much older property, so there are many established trees offering plenty of shade during the hot summer months. It stands in an acre of grounds, part trees, part garden, and part small grass paddock. The fruit-tree lined driveway from the country road is approximately 50m long, giving some seclusion, and leads through a garden with herbaceous border and shrubs to the house and parking area. The remainder of the garden is down to grass. There is also a small vegetable garden. Practically all flower beds, shrubs and vegetable garden have an automatic irrigation system. There is also a garden shed and a very rustic older shed.
Locally The village of L’Isle de Noé is five minutes away, with a café/restaurant, bakery, hairdresser and general store. Mirande, fifteen minutes away, is a town of 4000 inhabitants, with a wide range of shops and supermarkets, and an excellent Monday market.
Further Toulouse is 90 minutes away, with all the amenities and attractions that a city offers, including an airport fed by low cost airlines from the UK, and major football and rugby teams. Pau is 90 minutes south, with Ryanair connections to Stanstead. The Pyrenees are also less than two hours distant and offer endless walking and skiing in season.
In Summary Cardayre is a very pretty house and garden in a sheltered position, offering trouble free living in South West France – a virtually new house in an old setting with a mature and attractive garden.
