Bigger tows, Don Benito and Villanueva de la Serena are 25 minutes drive away and the lakes / resevoirs just 20 minutes away. Here, the cost of living is cheaper than on the coast as well as important things like car insurance.

Madrid is less that 4 hours away by car and the Costa del Sol can be reached in under 5 hours while Badajoz and Portugal are about 2 hours away while there is a golf course at Merida, about 1 hour's drive.
