17 September 2007

Amidst all the excitement surrounding Jet2.com's announcement of a further 8 routes and a significant sponsorship deal with Leeds Rugby, Jet2.com had another big announcement to make - an ambitious yet realistic target to carry 3.5 million passengers to and from Leeds Bradford by 2010.

Jet2.com now offers 36 destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport constituting the biggest airline operating from the airport. The launch of further routes from the airport not only reaffirmed a strong commitment to the airport and region itself but also fell on the last day of Leeds Bradford's (now former) Managing director, Ed Anderson, who paid tribute to Jet2.com and the working relationship the airline and airport has built since 2003.

Successor, Chief Executive, John Parkin, has pledged to continue this successful relationship with Jet2.com to achieve the 3.5 million passenger mark by 2010 which is great news for the airport, region, the people of Yorkshire and of course, Jet2.com.

Jet2.com commented “More passengers means more demand which means more destinations for our customers - the people of Yorkshire and the surrounding region and not forgetting our inbound visitors!”
