Palma – More than a 'bucket and spade' holiday

Palma is a hot spot for those looking to absorb the culture and history of the city - at night, the Cathedral lights up and the city's streets bustle with shoppers and busy restaurants serving the very best of authentic and international cuisine.

The boats glisten as they bob up and down in the port, an impressive sight to behold on a sunny winter's morning in Palma Majorca. Many of the locals jog along the waterside - an impressive route taking in the huge fortress like buildings that look down on the port and the bluest of sea to the right.

Palma has long been known to me as a typical resort holiday relaxing on the beach (or by the poolside) by day and coming alive by night with the numerous bars and entertainment. Great authentic cuisine, idyllic cafes and restaurants to sample the very best local food, such as fresh fish from the market, and of course enough history and culture to keep you amused for hours.

One tip, wear comfortable shoes as you stroll down the many streets - with so many sights and places of interest you certainly cover some ground! Luckily for the tourist there are so many cafes to choose from, you can sit back, relax and simply watch the world go by.
