TAP launches freighter service from Gatwick

This Sunday saw the launch of the new TAP Portugal freighter service from Gatwick to Portugal. The Boeing 757 will have a capacity of 27 tonnes and will operate weekly from Gatwick on a Sunday. This new service has been introduced to satisfy the steeply increasing demand for freight to Portugal and the busy long haul destinations of Brazil and Angola amongst others in the TAP network.

The introduction of additional passenger flights to Brazil (bringing the total to 60 per week in July) and Luanda (daily by July) will also give a substantial increase in belly capacity to these key cargo destinations.
