Pampering spa breaks for mums-to-be

Downe Health Spa, located on the picturesque Hartland Peninsula in North Devon, has launched a Pamper Day for mums-to-be. The Pamper Day costs £249 and is suitable for women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

It comprises a day in the Health Spa with lunch, a cream tea, soft drinks and the use of towels, towelling robes, slippers and shower cosmetics plus four therapies designed to relax and rejuvenate.

The Holistic Relaxation Therapy at Downe
An indulgent body and facial treatment created by Downe’s own therapists to provide a holistic experience which reduces the physical and emotional stress of pregnancy. Specially selected essential oils (safe to use during pregnancy or nursing) are used to assist calm, slow breathing. The client is also given a soothing massage with mandarin and lavender oils to relieve muscular tension, fluid retention, stress and fatigue.

A Facial Chosen from the range of Luxury Faicals at Downe
Following a consultation with one of Downe’s therapists on skin type and needs, the client selects a Facial from the range of Luxury Facials available at Downe (including the Hydra Dew, Hydra Sensitive Skin, Hydra Refine Pore Perfecting and Four Layer Facials).

The Sea Spa Manicure At Downe
A manicure which is no less than a facial for the hands. This therapeutic treatment includes an invigorating hand massage featuring seaweed based hand cream and a paraffin wax treatment, leaving hands soft, well-groomed and polished.

Gift Certificates
Also to provide a pregnant friend with the perfect pre or post baby present, the spa offers individually tailored Gift Certificates for therapies and treatments, Pamper Days or for a cash value towards any of these.

Weekend Breaks
For those looking for their last break away as a couple or their first break with a baby, Downe Cottages offers eight luxurious self catering holiday cottages. Cots, high chairs, stair gates and baby baths can be provided on request.

Each cottage has central heating and a log burner or cast iron living flame stove and a fully equipped kitchen with a fan assisted oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and microwave.

Little touches set these cottages apart from other self catering accommodation and include: a supply of cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing powder and kitchen essentials such as salt and pepper, cling film and tin foil. Each cottage offers spacious living and dining areas and has its own 21” television with video and dvd players.

Personalised service and a keen attention to detail are what are on offer at Downe and this includes breakfast and gourmet meals delivered direct to your cottage. Prices start from just £6 per person for breakfast.

Short pamper breaks start at just £259 per person, based on two sharing a one bedroom cottage, between May and 30 June 2007.
