Former British waterways site proves popular with buyers Willow Grange, Barratt North London’s exclusive development on a former British Waterways site in Church Road, Watford, was launched at the end of January and already nine properties have been snapped up.

Willow Grange is considered one of the most desirable sites in Watford and buyers of the first release of properties, who all live locally, lost no time in securing their favourite plots, despite there being no showhome available to view until April.

This gated development is set to transform site into a much sought-after residential address in a tranquil and leafy area north of Watford town centre. The substantial Victorian building, which was extended in 1991, will be converted and this, along with a variety of newly-built homes, will bring the total number of properties available at the scheme to 174.

Glyn Hopping, managing director of Barratt North London, says: “We are delighted to be converting this former office site back to residential use. We’ve had an excellent response to our launch, with five converted apartments, one new-build apartment and three family houses already sold.”

The homes at Willow Grange include one and two-bedroom apartments and just three four-bedroom houses. The newly-built homes will be ready in September. The showhome will be located in the converted buildings, where a number of apartments will be ready to move in to in December.

The interior specification will be superb. Beautifully designed fitted kitchens will have a range of modern integrated appliances and most master bedrooms will have stylish en suite bathrooms. The apartments will have an entry phone system and the converted apartments will have lift facilities. All homes will have private allocated parking.

Willow Grange has a beautiful setting amidst 4.8 acres of mature parkland grounds and many of the apartments overlook a large rectangular pond. Part of the landscaping includes a green open space at the front of the development that will be improved and made accessible to the general public.

The location of Willow Grange is ideal, only a mile from the centre of Watford and offering easy access to the M1 and M25. Watford Junction railway station lies approximately half a mile to the south of the development and provides direct access to London Euston with a journey time of around 20 minutes. Watford Underground station, around a mile away, is located on the Metropolitan Line. There are also direct bus links to Heathrow Airport.

Prices for newly-built one-bedroom apartments start from £202,500, two-bedroom apartments from £262,500 and four-bedroom houses from £470,000.

The Sales & Marketing Suite at Willow Grange is open Thursday to Sunday 10am to 6pm, and Mondays 2pm to 6pm.

Information on all Barratt developments is available on Barratthomes.co.uk.
