Council approves new planning guidance
6 April 2007

Cherwell District Council's Executive resolved on 2 April to approve new interim Planning Guidance.

The Guidance will help developers and applicants by setting out the Council’s approach and requirements in relation to planning obligations in the District.

The Guidance provides details of the new or improved infrastructure necessary to serve new development and explains requirements for affordable housing, recreation and open space, community buildings and facilities, education and public art, that may come about as a result of new development.

The document can be viewed on the council’s website at; cherwell-dc.gov.uk/planning/index.cfm

Councillor Reynolds, Development Portfolio Holder, says: "This is an important document that makes it easier for developers and applicants to understand planning obligations from the outset. It will also help the District Council to meet Government targets for determining major planning applications."
