The house was originally built as a nurses home to serve the local maternity hospital, but was sold to a local family after about five years. We bought the house from this family in 1988, so we are only the second private owners of the property.


Bishop Auckland is a market town on the edge of Weardale in the north East of England. The location is very convenient for commuting to Durham,Tyneside, Teeside and most areas in the north east. The A1(M) is about six miles away.
