New homes launching in Ormskirk

The first of 71 new homes being built on the site of a former timber yard in Ormskirk will be released for sale this weekend (June 16-17).

Redrow’s Oakwood Park venture in Wigan Road will offer a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes from the sought-after New Heritage Collection.

Combining the best of old and new they will ooze charm and character on the outside, and will be practical, stylish and full of mod cons inside.

Designed with modern living in mind, the traditional looking homes will boast many of the features people look for when choosing a new home, including ample storage space, somewhere to keep the washing machine and open plan layouts.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) explains: “A recent survey carried out for the Royal Institute of British Architects echoed our own earlier research, which helped shape our popular New Heritage Collection. We both found that homebuyers are influenced by the homes they lived in previously and want a home which has ‘period’ features, but is practical too.

“Our homes already offer many of the things that the RIBA report says people want and need from their home. For example, the report says people want a large main living area for eating, entertaining and relaxing; our homes enable our customers to do just that as they boast convivial open plan layouts that put the kitchen at the heart of the home.”

Another must-have for buyers is storage space for essential household items. Many of the homes at Oakwood Park will include a utility room, which offers a convenient space that keeps the washer, dryer and boiler out of the kitchen, as well as providing additional cupboard space.

The homes at Oakwood Park will initially be sold ‘off plan’ as Redrow works towards opening a show home. Friendly, experienced sales teams will be on hand at the marketing suite to guide visitors through the plans. Customers will also be encouraged to visit other Redrow developments across Lancashire and the North West to view show homes.

“Redrow.TV is a great marketing tool and features plenty of virtual show home tours so that home buyers can ‘explore’ our homes any time of day or night, from the comfort of their home, office, mobile phone or wherever they access the internet. The video-based website also includes weekly regional news, buying guides to the help available and footage of our customers talking about their new homes,” Lesley added.

The new homes at Oakwood Park will be within walking distance of the town centre and close to shops, leisure facilities and schools.
