Local housebuilder Morris Homes is offering a solution to first-time buyers in Tamworth who are struggling to save the large deposit needed to take their first step onto the property ladder.

While recent research suggests that a third of new buyers are concerned that they cannot afford the deposit required to purchase their first home, Morris presents a solution with the Government-led FirstBuy scheme. This is available on a selection of three-bed properties at its popular Castle Gate development on Marlborough Way.

The initiative allows qualifying first-time buyers to purchase a home at the site for 80 per cent of its market value, reducing the size of the deposit needed.

Cindy Vials, regional sales director at Morris, said: “First-time buyers are keen to avoid the expensive rental market and move into home ownership, but large deposits are proving a stubborn obstacle to overcome.

“The FirstBuy scheme offers an affordable way for househunters to purchase a high quality three-bedroom property at Castle Gate whilst also providing lower mortgage payments.”

Castle Gate offers easy access into Birmingham for commuters, and is within walking distance of the nearby Morrisons supermarket for essential amenities.

Cindy added: “Properties at Castle Gate are built to Morris’ high standards and are in an ideal location for both commuters and young families looking to purchase their first home.”

Morris has a range of three-bedroom properties available at Castle Gate starting at £139,800 under the FirstBuy scheme or from £174,750 without the initiative.
