Three new destinations – Turkey, Cyprus and Sardinia – together with new itineraries in Austria and Italy have been added to HF Holidays’ UK and European cycling programme for 2013.  The programme features both guided and self-guided tours.

In Turkey, for example, cycle along peaceful roads and through quiet villages amid the stunning Köprülü national park and the beautiful alpine scenery of the country’s Toros mountains on the new eight-day, self-guided St Paul’s Way tour.

Highlights along the route include visiting the ancient city of Adada with its Roman ruins, temples and amphitheatre, the magnificent Lake Egirdir as well as cycling down the Kovada valley through pine forests and apple orchards to the beautiful lake of Kovada.

Daily cycling distances are between 19 and 36 miles with some challenging yet highly rewarding climbs.  Guests are provided with a good quality touring or mountain bike fitted with road tyres together with a repair kit, pump and tools.

Available throughout April, May, June, September and October, the cost is £775 per person, twin-share inclusive of seven nights’ half-board accommodation (including one evening meal in a traditional Turkish kosk) in guesthouses and pensions, cycle hire, luggage transfers and airport transfers.  Travel to destination is extra.

For 2013, the company is also introducing the opportunity to use an electric bike on selected European holidays – a great option for those who want to widen their range of itineraries by taking the hard work out of hills.
