Proving that its most certainly not ‘grim up North’ – Linden Homes is delighted to announced the location for its newest development has won Best of British award!

A recent study has revealed that York is the place most Brits would like to live – and the historic city has also topped a poll of the most beautiful cities in the UK.

According to the internet survey by search engine Bing, one in 10 Brits would move to York over any other city – which is great news for developer Linden Homes.

The award-winning house builder is poised for an official New Year launch of its exciting 1877 development.

As a tribute to the golden age of railway, 1877 will offer a stunning selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes to a quiet corner of North Yorkshire.

Named to commemorate the building of what in its heyday was the largest railway station in the world, the development at Ouseacre will be made up of 57 new homes - built in a range of two-storey styles and designs to complement the existing area.

Designer kitchens and bathrooms, energy efficiency fittings and the latest hi-tech wiring for home entertainment and communication are among the many benefits.

A showhome at 1877 is due to open imminently, and there will be an official launch during the weekend of January 19 – 20. A number of the new homes have already been sold from plan – and prices start from around £154,950.

The development is perfectly positioned, just a four-minute drive from the railway station and less than 10 minutes from bustling centre of York – as well as being within easy walking distance of the town centre and railway station.

The local area also offers excellent educational facilities, and its close proximity to York city centre means you are never far away from some fantastic shopping, wide selection of restaurants and of course a location steeped in history.
