MPme launches the iPhone version of its curated radio app

19th December 2012 Print

MPme has announced the immediate availability of the iPhone version of its award-winning mobile music app. Available for the iPad since January 2012, MPme now offers music lovers an elegant aggregation app of professionally curated radio from around the world on iPhones and iPod touch. Discovering music that users love is made effortless as MPme accesses thousands of radio station streams in real-time and uses this real-time music data plus the user’s music library, listening habits and those of their friends to recommend stations to listen to through the app.

Other music radio applications present users with long, impenetrable lists of radio stations where listeners have to do all the work. MPme eliminates the time-consuming problem of seeking and finding by fetching music that’s relevant to what listeners want to hear. MPme does the work for users, recommending stations that are likely to be of interest to them, presenting the choice of top stations in an elegant, visual interface. MPme presents recommended radio stations that match users’ tastes so they can hear their favorite tunes, discover new, related music and, perhaps find new favorite radio stations and DJs outside of their local market.

“Until now, discovering the music you love has always been a manual, hit-and-miss process, but with MPme, the music you like almost magically finds you,” said Christian Miccio, CEO at MPme. “By weaving together a person’s own listening habits with those of their friends combined with what’s already inside their iTunes music library on the iOS device, MPme then quickly recommends music that matches a person’s own tastes effortlessly.”

MPme offers a life-like experience, unlike robotic jukebox music services which lack the human touch. MPme harkens back to radio's glory days when local DJs were the best source for music and industry information. Now that you can listen to stations from all over the globe, if you simply don't want the hassle of looking, MPme does the work for you. MPme intelligently learns your music preferences and connects you to radio stations playing music close to your tastes.

Just like MPme’s award winning iPad app, Winner – Music Discovery, Recommendation & Creation at Midem 2012, the iPhone app looks beautiful whilst providing users with a problem solving, music discovery service, with sleek, clean design and simple navigation.

All iOS versions of MPme support Apple Airplay, enabling listening on external speakers, and second-screens such as Apple TV, showing the listener what’s playing on that screen.

MPme is available immediately for free in the iTunes Store for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices (requires iOS 5 and above). Android and web versions are scheduled for 2013 launch.
