E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid triumphs in SME Company Car of the Year Awards
The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid has triumphed in the Business Car Manager SME Company Car of the Year Awards 2012, winning two categories including Best Overall Company Car for SMEs.
Judged by a panel of industry leaders chaired by Phil Orford, Chief Executive of the Forum of Private Business, the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid was voted Best Company Car for SME Directors and Best Overall Company Car for SMEs.
Ralph Morton, Business Car Manager Editor, said: “The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid brings a new dynamic to the SME Company Car Market. There's all the prestige of the three-pointed star, incredible shove-you-down-the-road performance, plenty of space, yet a benefit-in-kind company car tax rating that would make the taxman wince. It was a clear winner with all our judges. And the only car to do so.”
The SME Company Car of the Year awards, presented by Business Car Manager in association with MAGMA Automotive Services, are designed to highlight the best company cars and car support programmes available to SMEs in the market.
Nick Andrews, Head of Fleet for Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: “This is a fantastic win for our first diesel-electric vehicle. The E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid generates just 109 grams of CO2 per kilometre, with a combined fuel economy of 67.3 mpg, as proved in our real-world driving eco challenge, so it really is an exciting company car.”
Priced from £39,645 OTR, the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid is the most efficient E-Class production car, and features an advanced diesel-electric hybrid system that allows for electric-only drive. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels – 16-inch wheels can be fitted as a no-cost option to achieve the lowest possible CO2 and economy figures. Also included is leather upholstery, Becker Map Pilot Navigation and LED daytime running lights.
