Bloor Homes is pleased to announce the opening of its stunning new development at ‘Shefford Leys’. Located in the market town of Shefford in Bedfordshire, ideally situated for commuters, the development comprises a mix of 95 two, three and four bedroom homes.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director of Bloor Homes comments: “'Market towns are particularly desirable for those looking to move out of urban areas into more idyllic surroundings without sacrificing the benefits of living in a city, such as being so close to amenities. Bedfordshire is an ideal location for commuters, who need fast links into London during the week but want to relax and enjoy the countryside at the weekends.”

The first homes at this development to be offered for sale are three and four bedroom family homes in a variety of designs, finished to the excellent specification for which Bloor is renowned.

A great example is the three bedroom ‘Bampton’ priced from £219,950. It features a large lounge, open plan kitchen / dining area with French doors leading to the rear garden, utility and cloakroom. Upstairs, the double master bedroom benefits from both fitted wardrobes and en-suite facilities.

Larger families will find the four bedroom Eastcote will meet their needs for space. Priced at £389,950, this four bedroom, detached home offers a spacious lounge with French doors leading to the rear garden, a study, large kitchen and dining area with French doors, as well as a separate utility room. Upstairs, there are four double bedrooms, two of which include en-suite facilities & fitted wardrobes.

The name Shefford derives from the name 'Sheeps Ford', a point where in the distant past shepherds found it was the easiest place to cross the river with their flocks. In 1225 a Charter was granted to hold a market at the settlement by the sheep ford thus establishing this tiny hamlet as a market town. This tradition has continued to this day with the market being held every Friday.

The area is perfect for growing families as the lower, middle and upper schools are all within walking distance of the town centre. For the active weekender, the Beadlow Manor Golf course boasts two 18 hole courses set in 300 acres of tree lined parklands. Whilst Bellote Meadow and Chicksands Wood are ideal for a long country walks on a Sunday afternoon.

The retailers in Shefford range from independently owned shops to well-known high street names. There are many gastro pubs, restaurants and takeaway facilities here with The Banks & Taylor Micro-brewery offering fine ales which are served in one of its own pubs in the town.

Situated midway between the A1 and the M1 within easy reach of Hitchin and Bedford, Shefford is surrounded by beautiful open countryside but is within easy commuting distance of central London. Regular services from Biggleswade to London King’s Cross take around 45 minutes.

There are currently six different designs of homes available for sale with prices ranging from £219,950 for the three bedroom Bampton to £389,950 for the four bedroom Eastcote.
