Storey Homes is delighted to announce the much anticipated launch of Vulcan Rise, an exclusive development of 14, two, three and four bedroom houses located in Bury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire on Saturday 9 March. For first time buyers the great news is that a selection of the properties will be available through FirstBuy, whilst for existing home owners there is the opportunity to move quickly and easily, without estate agency fees!

Matthew Storey of Storey Homes comments: “We are really excited at the forthcoming launch of Vulcan Rise. This stunning development of just 14 new houses offers something for everyone, from perfect homes for first time buyers, available through FirstBuy, to large executive four bedroom properties for families. We have already had a huge amount of interest in these properties and would advise prospective buyers to register their interest as soon as possible.”

Vulcan Rise enjoys a picturesque location surrounded by stunning countryside and is located at Valiant Square, the previous development by Storey located on the former Ministry of Defence site at Ramsey. Each property will have a garage and will be finished to a high specification including fully fitted kitchens with A+ rated energy efficient appliances and air source heat pumps which extract heat from the outside air to be used to heat radiators thus making savings on fuel bills. All homes will also feature luxury bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms to the master bedrooms.

Offering a fantastic opportunity for first time buyers, prices will start from £143,960 through FirstBuy, a government scheme designed to help people onto the property ladder. FirstBuy enables buyers to purchase 80% of the full value of the property, and the remaining 20% is paid by a shared equity loan funded by Storey Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency. Buyers need to find a deposit of only 5% and take out a mortgage for the remainder of the property’s value

The buyer can then purchase up to 100% of the property in instalments after moving in, or proportionally share the remaining equity of the house when it is sold at the current market rate. To be eligible for a FirstBuy loan, the applicant’s household must earn less than £60,000 per year and be unable to finance a property in the area where they currently live or work.

Meanwhile for those looking for a way to sell their home faster with no hassle, and move into a new property straight away, Storey Homes’ Assisted Move Scheme may be the answer. The initiative has been designed to make moving home as effortless as possible and there are no estate agency fees to pay. Storey Homes will instruct an agent to value the property, monitor the marketing and manage the sale through to legal completion, taking all the hard work out of selling a home.

Valiant Square formerly provided accommodation for married officers serving at RAF Upwood, which originally opened in 1917, closed in 1995 and played a major role in the character and recent history of nearby Bury and Ramsey.

Ramsey is a historic market town founded around the Benedictine abbey in the 10th Century; the medieval gatehouse remains today. The bustling town provides a selection of shops, cafes and public houses, amply accommodating everyday needs. For fitness enthusiasts, a sports centre, bowls club, tennis clubs and Ramsey Golf club are within easy reach. Families are also well catered for, with a good selection of primary, secondary and sixth-form schools.

Situated about 20 minutes from the A1 running north and south and within 15 minutes of the A14 running east and west, residents have easy access to surrounding towns and villages. Huntington is around 20 minutes away and Peterborough can be reached in 25 minutes; both are served by mainline railway stations into London.

Prices at Vulcan Rise will start from £179,950 for a two bedroom home or £143,960 through FirstBuy. For more information, visit storey-homes.co.uk.
