Strong sales of new homes in Surrey, Sussex, south London, Kent and Hampshire underline a positive start to the new year for Taylor Wimpey.

Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey South West Thames, which is behind a number of developments of new homes for sale in south London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire, is reporting a positive start to the year – in line with independent predictions for a housing market recovery in 2013.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has predicted that UK house prices will rise 2% this year, and estate agent Savills is expecting prices of property for sale in London to rise 3% to 4.5% by 2014.

According to London property market monitor Marsh & Parsons, property wealth in London is spreading out of traditional zones such as Kensington and Chelsea to neighbourhoods in the south and west of the capital such as Balham and Clapham.

Meanwhile, popular commuter towns close to the city are also expected to benefit. Property website Propertywide says that over the next five years the value of property in Surrey and Kent is expected to increase by as much as 21% in prime inner commuter zones and by 19% in the outer commuter zones.

With a fantastic choice of developments of new build homes in south London or in locations within easy commuting distance of central London, Taylor Wimpey South West Thames is offering discerning buyers the opportunity to take advantage of today’s lower prices before the market rises.

Taylor Wimpey’s Plaza II in Surbiton, Hinchley Park in Hinchley Wood near Esher and Kings Quarter in Chislehurst, for example, all lie within close proximity of the capital – with exceptional demand from savvy buyers reflecting their highly-desirable locations in popular commuter zones.

95% of the properties at Hinchley Park are now sold, while 70% of the new homes at Plaza II and 55% of the plots at Kings Quarter have already been snapped up.

Meanwhile, the housebuilder also has new developments coming soon in the up-and-coming south London property hot spots of Wandsworth and Balham, which are already generating a huge level of interest from prospective purchasers.

Sarah Pasco, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We’re delighted to report a positive start to 2013 for our new homes developments across the region, which is testament to the emerging confidence in the property market, particularly centred around London and the south east.

“Whether home-hunters are looking for a vibrant city lifestyle or a leafy suburban haven, now is the time to secure a new property within easy commuting distance of central London before prices rise.

“The good news doesn’t just stop within the M25, as commuter towns a little further afield in the south-east are set to benefit from increased demand.

“Our stunning developments in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Hampshire enjoy great road and rail links into London, which means they’re also proving attractive to commuters looking to leave the hustle and bustle of city life and return to a peaceful retreat in the country at the end of each day.”
