Taylor Wimpey is offering aspiring homeowners a helping hand to step on the property ladder at the Heritage Park development of new homes for sale in Bedford.

First-time buyers have an exceptional opportunity to secure a stunning new house with just a 5% deposit at Taylor Wimpey’s popular Heritage Park development of properties in Bedford.

The Government-backed FirstBuy initiative offers qualifying purchasers the chance to access selected two-bedroom ‘Whitwell’ and three-bedroom ‘Gosford’ houses for sale in Bedford for 80% of their full price, including a 5% deposit, subject to status.

That means the gorgeous Plot 22 ‘Whitwell’ property in Bedford, with a full purchase price of £172,000, can be secured for a FirstBuy price of just £137,600, including a 5% deposit as low as £8,600. Alternatively, the wonderful Plot 27 ‘Gosford’, priced at £198,000, is available under FirstBuy for just £158,400, including a deposit of as little as £9,900.

This superb scheme gives first-time buyers the chance to purchase their dream new home in Bedford much sooner than might otherwise have been possible.

Steve Rolt, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bedford, says: “FirstBuy is helping more and more first-time buyers step on the property ladder right across the country – and it’s available with selected two and three-bedroom houses at Heritage Park.

“With such a great deal available, I’m not expecting it to be long before purchasers snap up these gorgeous properties – so my message to prospective buyers is to visit our Sales Centre without delay.”

The ‘Whitwell’ features a spacious living/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, plus a kitchen and guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway. Upstairs, the landing leads to two double bedrooms and a main bathroom, while outside, the property benefits from a carport.

Alternatively, the ‘Gosford’ comprises a lounge/dining room, a kitchen and a guest cloakroom on the ground floor, with an en-suite master bedroom, two further bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, plus a carport and driveway parking outside.

FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency and Taylor Wimpey, which is repayable at the end of the 25-year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first-time buyers and their total household earnings should be less than £60,000.

Heritage Park is part of Lakeview, the first of four villages that will make up the self-contained, sustainable town of Wixams, three miles south-west of Bedford.

Designs for the new community draw on the best traditions of Bedfordshire’s market towns and homes will benefit from new shops, community and leisure facilities, schools and employment areas, in addition to 300 acres of sports pitches, parklands and green open space. Each of the four villages will have its own centre, play and landscaped areas, and will be within easy reach of Wixams town centre.

A new transport network puts bus stops within comfortable walking distance of the homes, a new railway station will provide quick links to London and nearby towns and cities, and an extensive network of cycleways and paths will make getting around a breeze. The region’s major commuter routes, including the M1 and A1, are within easy reach, while Luton Airport is just 15 miles away.

First-time buyers can find out more about securing the ‘Whitwell’ or ‘Gosford’ with FirstBuy at Heritage Park by visiting the Sales Centre located in Brooklands Avenue, off Bedford Road, Wixams, and open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm (1pm to 5pm on Mondays).
