A brand new collection of stunning homes is to be launched in response to demand from homebuyers at Westlow Abbey, Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after development in Wixams, Bedfordshire.

Home-hunters will be able to choose from a fresh selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties in the new phase, which is set to be officially launched from Taylor Wimpey’s nearby Heritage Park development on Saturday 11th May between 11am and 2.30pm.

At the opening event, property-seekers will have a chance to tour a stylish three-bedroom ‘Gosford’ viewhome, which is available to purchase for just £195,000 complete with flooring throughout, fully integrated appliances, a turfed rear garden, satellite connection and an outside tap – as well as £1,950 stamp duty paid by Taylor Wimpey.

There will also be an opportunity for prospective purchasers to chat with an independent financial advisor about securing the best mortgage deal and taking advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme to snap up a new home at Westlow Abbey for 80% of its full price, including a 5% deposit!

Steve Rolt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “This fabulous new selection of properties at Westlow Abbey will give would-be buyers an exciting chance to find their dream home in the popular community of Wixams.

“Anyone hoping to secure the ‘Gosford’ – or any of the wonderful properties from the brand new phase – should book an appointment between 11am and 2.30pm on Saturday 11th May with the Sales Executive for the launch, or risk missing out!”

Under Help to Buy, a Government loan of up to 20% is provided to help eligible customers to purchase any new-build property up to the value of £600,000. There is no salary cap for customers using the scheme and it is available to both first-time buyers and those looking to take the next step up the property ladder.

The three-bedroom ‘Gosford’ house, for example, can be secured under Help to Buy by a qualifying customer for 80% of its £195,000 full price – that’s just £156,000, including a 5% deposit as low as £9,750!

Alternatively, the NewBuy initiative gives credit-worthy purchasers in a variety of circumstances the chance to access their ideal home with a 95% mortgage.

Westlow Abbey is part of Lakeview, the first of four villages which will make up the self-contained, sustainable town of Wixams, three miles south-west of Bedford.

Designs for this new community draw on the best traditions of Bedfordshire’s market towns and homes will benefit from new shops, community and leisure facilities, schools and employment areas, in addition to 300 acres of sports pitches, parklands and green open space. Each of the four villages will have its own centre, play and landscaped areas, and each will be within easy reach of Wixams town centre.

Lakeview’s own local centre is already well established, featuring a village hall, a convenience store, playing fields and a multi-use games area, while Lakeview Lower School is the first of a number of schools for children of all ages to open in the town.

Regular bus services to Bedford town centre and railway station are within comfortable walking distance of the new homes, while a new Wixams railway station is set to open in the future, providing quick, direct links to London.

Beyond the town boundaries, the re-aligned A6 and the A421 Bedford southern bypass put the region’s major commuter routes, including the M1 and A1, within easy reach, while those travelling further afield will appreciate that Luton Airport is just 15 miles away.

For days out, Wixams lies amid beautiful countryside and close to a wide range of established visitor attractions, including Woburn Safari Park and Wild Britain, Gulliver’s Land theme park and the Millennium Country Park in the Forest of Marston Vale.

The new phase of homes at Westlow Abbey goes on sale from 11am to 2.30pm on Saturday 11th May at the nearby Heritage Park Sales Centre, located at 1 Brooklands Avenue, Wixams, Bedfordshire, MK42 6AX. The Sales Centre is also open daily from 10am to 5pm (Mondays from 1.30pm to 5pm).
