Homeowners who had thought they couldn’t afford to make the next step up the property ladder are snapping up the chance to do just that at Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after Copt Oak Gardens development in Narborough, Leicestershire.

That’s because the leading housebuilder can help to sell their existing home through its popular easymover scheme – and then the customer can take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy shared equity initiative, which enables them to secure their new home for 80% of its full price, including a deposit as low as 5%!

Discerning buyers have been quick to spot this incredible opportunity, with five plots being reserved at the development through Help to Buy and easymover in the space of just two weeks!

Lorraine McAllister, Part Exchange Manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, explains: “The opportunity to combine Help to Buy with easymover has been a huge help for our customers at Copt Oak Gardens, where out of the eight sales currently going through, five have been purchased this way.

“We’ve sold the customers’ existing homes very quickly with easymover and then they’ve been able to go down the Help to Buy route to purchase a spacious three or four-bedroom house at the development.

“Some of our buyers have found they can buy a larger property than they anticipated under the scheme – and this has meant they’ve been able to afford their ‘forever’ home, rather than making an intermediary step up the property ladder.

“That’s because an equity loan of up to 20% on a property such as the four-bedroom ‘Thornwick’ detached house, for example, priced from £334,995, is such a significant help towards the purchase.”

As well as the four-bedroom ‘Thornwick’, the four-bedroom ‘Lulworth’ home, currently priced from £289,995, has also been popular with customers using Help to Buy with easymover at Copt Oak Gardens.

Under easymover, Taylor Wimpey helps existing homeowners find a buyer for their old property in just a few weeks, and can even cover the cost of estate agency fees.

They can then secure their new home at Copt Oak Gardens under Help to Buy, which involves a Government loan of up to 20% and is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000. There is no salary cap for purchasers using the scheme.

Lorraine adds: “With a normal mortgage, customers need at least a 15% deposit to get a decent rate, but with Help to Buy they can move with just a 5% deposit. That means they only need a 75% loan-to-value mortgage, which enables them to access a wider range of competitive deals from lenders.

“And as Help to Buy is available on homes up to £600,000, it’s open to people in a whole range of circumstances. It’s great to be able to help home-owners as well as first-time buyers as it’s getting the whole market moving. It’s such a good scheme.”

There’s a superb selection of four and five-bedroom homes currently available at Copt Oak Gardens, priced from £289,995.

Within easy reach of the new homes is the bustling village centre of Narborough, which boasts pubs, restaurants, takeaways, two supermarkets, a bakery, primary schools, two doctors’ surgeries, banks, a chemist, a post office and a private gym.

What’s more, the vibrant city centre of Leicester is just six miles from Copt Oak Gardens, offering even wider leisure, shopping and entertainment opportunities.

The village enjoys a convenient location near the M1 and M69 motorways, making the new homes at Copt Oak Gardens perfect for commuters travelling to Leicester, Coventry or further afield. Narborough railway station provides direct services to Leicester within 10 minutes and Birmingham New Street in less than an hour.
