Total Solar Eclipse & Northern Lights cruise

18th June 2013 Print

The next Total Solar Eclipse is due to occur on March 20, 2015 above the skies of the remote Faroe Islands. Eclipse of the Century is offering stargazers and amateur astronomers the chance to see this amazing spectacle, as well as the breathtaking Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), on board a cruise ship from just £1,699 per person (saving £100 per person). Also, book before 30 June, 2013 and receive up to £250 on board spend per cabin.

The trip departs on the Boudicca from Southampton 8 - 24 March, 2015 and guests will have the opportunity to explore various ports of call along the western coast of Norway including Alesund, Tromso and Alta, the northernmost city in the world. Located firmly within the arctic circle, it is also a great place to view the Northern Lights.

The trip will then visit Leknes and Norway’s stunning Lofoten Islands. The wild landscape of jagged peaks, cliffs and bright-white sandy beaches makes the area one of the most picturesque in Norway. Finally, the cruise will visit Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands.

The Total Solar Eclipse will take place on 20 March, 2015 and the event will be the last one visible from Europe until 2026.

Expert astronomer and ‘Sky at Night’ presenter, Chris Lintott, will be on board as a guest of Eclipse of the Century during the tour presenting lectures and sharing his knowledge of astronomy and eclipses. He will be available to guests throughout the tour to answer any further questions.

The price includes 15 nights’ full-board accommodation on the Boudicca, 1 night FREE pre-cruise accommodation in Southampton on a B&B basis and all lectures and talks with Chris Lintott.
