Barratt North East is getting the summer off to a sizzling start with special events in County Durham this weekend (6 / 7 July), where homebuyers could reserve their new home for just £1.

The housebuilder is launching its ‘Great Barratt Move’ campaign with events at Beechwood in Sacriston; Burton Woods and Merrington Park in Spennymoor; The Limes, Coxhoe; and Berry Edge, Consett.

Anyone making a reservation through the Help to Buy scheme will need just £1 – and they will also benefit from the scheme’s low deposit and Government loan which make homebuying more affordable.

Fenton Hewitt, Sales Director at Barratt North East, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors, who can enjoy some refreshments and take a leisurely look around our showhomes.

“Our sales teams will be on hand to answer any questions and there will be independent mortgage advice available.

“Help to Buy has sparked a great deal of interest since it was introduced in April and our first buyers to use the scheme are now moving into their new homes.

“It offers a great opportunity, for existing homeowners as well as for first-time buyers, to buy a bigger home with a smaller mortgage. I would advise anyone interested to come along and find out how they could benefit.”

In addition Barratt has a bonus for those taking up the special offer. First-time buyers will receive a free furniture pack while ‘second steppers’ making a move up the property ladder will get a Next Home voucher worth up to £3,000.

Those who qualify are eligible to buy a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is covered by a Government loan, which is interest-free for the first five years.

The events run from 10.00am to 5.00pm each day. For further information, visit barratthomes.co.uk.
